Oud Bruin is fermented and aged in pinot noir barrels. It pours mahogany with copper highlights. There is a light beige head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is dark cherry, blood orange, bitter chocolate, and a touch of acidity; the barrel and pinot noir is present but not overwhelming. At the start of the taste it is a gentle acidity, dark stone fruit, and chocolate; the finish is a touch grainy with rye, pinot, and barrel character rounding it out.
